Its reinforced support legs with concealed slots allow the spider to lock securely in place, ensuring the primer remains correctly positioned in the up hole while explosives are being pumped. The missile-shaped, ribbed head design enables the primer to travel smoothly and straight up the hole, preventing snagging in poor ground conditions or along shear planes.
