The main objective of this project is to optimize irrigation infrastructure in South Kalimantan quickly and efficiently.
Project Location: Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan.
Number of Installers: 5-6 people
Amount of Concrete Canvas Used: 953 m²
Roll Format: Bulk Roll
Type/Thickness: CCX-M
Layup Method: Transverse
Installation Process
Equipment used
- Webbing Sling 3 meters x 2 tons
- Excavator
- Cutter/utility knife
- Hammer
- Dynabolt 5cm diameter 10mm
- 20 mm stainless steel screws
Alternatives and Reasons for Choosing Concrete Canvas
Due to the success of the project owned by the project owner in the previous year, with all the ease and speed of the work, this project is planned to use Concrete Canvas as a solution for optimizing irrigation channels.
Environmental Conditions
The installation location for this project is in a garden and rice field area. During the installation, it rained heavily during the afternoon or evening.
Land Preparation
- Cleaning irrigation channels of vegetation and debris.
- Excavation of anchor trenches on the shoulder of the channel.
Installation, Bonding, and Sealing Methods
For this project, CCX-M Concrete Canvas was first cut in the storage warehouse to the length of each channel segment. Small rolls of Concrete Canvas were then transported by pickup truck and carried to the installation site by two to three workers.
The connection method used in this irrigation channel remediation project was a screw connection method, with Dynabolt anchors used. The installation process began by rolling out each small roll of Concrete Canvas according to the existing channel profile, then installing anchors on the shoulders and top of the channel. After ensuring the correct position, the material was then stacked and screws were installed following the blue guide lines. The screws used were 20 mm long and installed with a maximum spacing of 10 cm.
Hydration Method
The hydration process in this project is carried out using a hose connected to a water pump, where the water used is taken from the nearest water source from the Concrete Canvas installation location.
Installation Duration
This project can be completed within 5 days, with a productivity of 200-250 m² per day, including land preparation, materials, installation, and hydration processes.
Project Success
The project was deemed a success, as construction of the irrigation channel continued from the previous year. The owner was satisfied with the speed and ease of Concrete Canvas installation.
